How to Post a Poll in Yammer?

Polls are very useful in Yammer for casting quick informal votes against a specific subject matter. Responses to the poll are aggregated and displayed as an average to all who vote. Users can change their response to the poll if they choose to. If a user has not yet responded to the vote and wish to see how many people have responded, they can choose See Results. To create a new poll, follow these steps:

  • From SharePoint, click on Yammer from the suite bar and enter your password if required
  • Above the box labelled What are you working on? click on Post a Poll
  • In the What's your question? box enter the title of your poll
  • In the Answer boxes, enter your answers
  • Click on Update

For updates regarding documents and images, the More category offers the options to  Stop Following,  View Conversation,  Add Topics,  Bookmark,  Email Me and  Delete your update.

  • Stop Following - Stop receiving notifications about this poll
  • View Conversation - View the entire conversation on a separate page
  • Add Topics - Tag this poll with additional topics (#Tags)
  • Bookmark - Bookmarks an update which can be accessed from More on your profile page which can be unbookmarked by clicking the button again
  • Email Me - Sends this poll or reply to your company inbox
  • Delete - If this is your poll you may choose to delete it

    1. Hi, Currently yammer does not allow more than the default(3) options for the poll.
      In case you need more than 3 options you can use SharePoint survey. http://knowspswss.blogspot.co.uk/p/sharepoint-basics.html

    1. No editing option is not available. However it makes sense , otherwise admins can reverse the poll results after the poll is over or change the trend while its going on.

  7. Hi,

    is it posssible to create a poll with indentation level?
    I mean like this here below. So that when I ask a yes or no question, I can also get information on why they said no or yes.

    * no
    ***** because of this
    ***** because of that
    ***** ...
    * yes
    ***** because of this
    ***** because of that
